Following a two-year pilot of Chartered Teacher modules, an Independent Evaluation Team led by Professor David Egan, has reported. The report supports the further development of the Chartered Teacher award and programmes in Wales.

The Council has provided the Minister for Education, Jane Hutt, with copies of the report and has recommended that the Assembly Government should fund a mainstreamed programme from September 2010. Officials have promised the Minister’s decision on the development of Chartered Teacher early in the new year.
